2010 WWA Worlds Results

Last weekend was the WWA World Wakeboard Championships in Orlando, Florida. Canada had
two solid finishes. Raphael Derome, competing at the Junior Pro Men's level, finished fourth.
Justin Gratszfeld, a member of the Canadian Wakeboard Development, placed eighth in the

Whitney McClintock bounces back to win open title at water ski nationals

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – World champion Whitney McClintock of Cambridge, Ont., Stephen Collins
of Toronto and Kevin Melnuk of Mississauga, Ont., were among the winners in the open category
events on Saturday that concluded the 60th Canadian National Water Ski Championships.

the world barefoot water skiing championships on Sunday while Becky Moynes of Belleville, Ont.,

Canada wins two gold and a silver at world barefoot water skiing championships

BRANDENBURG, Germany – Don Schwartz of Whistler, B.C., won the gold medal in men’s tricks,
Caitlin Rowland of Calgary was the winner in women’s slalom and Gordie Croteau of Sudbury,
Ont., added a silver men’s slalom on Friday at the world barefoot water skiing

WAKESTOCK – WORLD’S LARGEST WAKEBOARD FESTIVAL WRAPS WITH HUGE CROWDS & GREAT CANADIAN FINISHES!

The action got under way with the Billabong Pro Women’s Wakeboard finals early. Despite
a morning rainsquall, the 8 women finals kept rolling and in the end it was American Melissa
Marquardt walking away with the victory, followed by Canadians Erika Langman and Leslie
Sparkes. “I’m looking forward to next year – the crowds at Wakestock are sick!” reflected
Marquardt on her inaugural Wakestock experience.
Up next was the 6 man final for the Malibu Boats Pro Wakeskate Championships, presented by
Monster Energy and Billabong. Leading the way into the final round were past Wakestock
wakeskate champs Stuart Shinn and Brian Grubb. They were joined by last year’s runner
up, Grant Roberts, James Balzer, Yan Lecomte and Dan Brown. They had the best water conditions
of the day allowing for some incredibly tech trick to be thrown down. Roberts laid down a
big run that was highlighted by a wake-to-wake Front Bigspin for his last trick. In the
end, it was Roberts walking away with his first ever pro win and the prestigious Wakestock

Ryan Dodd wins jump event at Malibu Open

Ryan Dodd of Olds, Alta., won the gold medal this weekend in the jump event at the
Malibu Open water skiing competition while world champion Whitney McClintock of Cambridge,

Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada Announces the 33rd Canadian Barefoot Water Ski Championships, August 27 to 29 2010.

Ottawa, Ontario (August 6, 2010) - Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada is pleased to announce
the 2010 Canadian Barefoot Water Ski Championships, the 33rd edition of this tournament.
The event will take place in the mornings of August 27 to 29 at Shalom Park in Leduc (just
outside of Edmonton), Alberta. The event is being held in conjunction with the 2010 Roswell
Canadian Wakeboard Championships and will feature some of Canada's top barefoot skiers.

Junior Worlds in Italy this weekend!

The 2010 Waterski Junior Worlds will be held this weekend in beautiful San Gervasio,
Italy. The event runs from August 5th to August 8th. Athletes skiing for Canada include
Taryn Grant, Mitchell Novlan, Chantal Singer, Valérie Grenier, Jaret Bull, and Melissa Long.
